Yoshikazu Yasuhiko (安彦良和) aka Yaz, is a Japanese animator, novelist, science fiction illustrator & manga artist. Born in Engaru, Hokkaido, Dec 9 1947; Yasuhiko dropped out of Hirosaki University & was hired by Osamu Tezuka’s Mushi Productions in 1970 as an animator. He later went freelance & worked on various animation productions for film & television. Some of his most notable works as character designer & director are Brave Reideen, Combattler V & Mobile Suit Gundam.

Hiroyuki Matsuura (松浦 浩之) was born in Tokyo in 1964. By 1984, he worked mainly on graphic design projects, before starting to create his own works based on animated Japanese cartoon characters in 1999. His solo exhibition “Super Acrylic Skin” held at Tokyo Gallery in 2005 marked his career shift to being an artist. Since then, Matsuura has been expanding his practice to work in a variety of formats - painting, sculpture and prints - both in Japan and abroad.

Mamoru Mania 2004 calendar
Mamoru Nagano (永野護), a Japanese manga artist, animator & mecha designer was born January 21, 1960 in Maizuru, Kyoto Prefecture. He is noted for his work with anime studio Sunrise, with his work in Heavy Metal L-Gaim introducing mecha with armor plates that appeared to fit loosely over an internal skeleton. From there, Nagano went on to design elegant & graceful mecha for his 1986 manga “The Five Star Stories” that displayed elongated lines & delicate curves. He is married to voice actress Maria Kawamura. Currently he is working on a new anime called Gothicmade, with studio Automatic Flowers. He will be working as the producer, director, chief writer, character & mechanical designer for the series.
